Two Guardia Civil Estatal officers were killed in a torrent of gunfire in the town of Villa Juárez, San Luis Potosi yesterday morning. Authorities surged forces to try and locate the culprits, but were unable to find them.
The two police officers were identified as Alejandro Niño González and Miguel Ángel Sanjuan Aguilar.
Photos of the their vehicle show dozens of bullet holes in from the front and the back. A recording by a local does not show the killing, but the audio captures hundreds of gunshots, some with automatic gunfire.
Local government issued a warning about the presence of armed men to civilians, advising them to stay indoors.
Including this event, three police officers have been slain in San Luis Potosi state this year, according to Causa en Comun, already surpassing the two killed in 2025.
