Six gunmen were killed and one was arrested after a shootout with the National Guard and the Mexican Army in the town of Jucutacato, south of the municipality of Uruapan, this morning.
According to local news, a joint Army and National Guard convoy was ambushed while on patrol on the road between Jucutacato and Cutzato early in the morning of Wednesday, 24 June. The soldiers fired back, killing six gunman and capturing one more. Two other gunmen managed to escape, leaving behind weapons and two vehicles.
