“Sol Prendido” for Borderland Beat
Axel Arturo “N,” alias “El Chorejas”—identified as the alleged leader of a criminal organization linked to homicides, kidnappings, and extortion in the eastern region of Morelos—was arrested by investigative agents in the municipality of Xochitepec. He is under investigation for an armed attack that left one man dead and a woman seriously injured.
The arrest was carried out by personnel from the Criminal Investigation Agency (AIC), with operational support from the Attorney General’s Office of the Republic (FGR), pursuant to an arrest warrant for the crimes of aggravated homicide and attempted aggravated homicide.
According to investigations by the Morelos State Attorney General’s Office, the detainee is allegedly linked to a criminal group known as “Los Aparicio” or “Los Huazulco,” which authorities believe operates and carries out criminal activities across several municipalities in the state.
A DIRECT ATTACK AGAINST A COUPLE
The events that led to the arrest warrant took place on July 25, 2025, in the San Juan neighborhood of the town of Huazulco, in the municipality of Temoac.
According to the official investigation, a couple was traveling in their car when another vehicle blocked their path. Axel Arturo “N” allegedly stepped out of that vehicle and opened fire on the victims without a word.
The attack resulted in the death of a man, while his companion sustained serious injuries.
Based on witness testimonies, forensic evidence, and other gathered clues, the Specialized Homicide Unit compiled the necessary evidence, allowing the Public Prosecutor’s Office to request an arrest warrant, which was subsequently granted by a control judge.
LOCATED IN ATLACHOLOAYA
Following investigative and search efforts, agents located “El Chorejas” in the town of Atlacholoaya, in the municipality of Xochitepec, where he was taken into custody. Subsequently, he was placed at the disposal of the judicial authority requesting his custody; this authority will determine his legal status as the criminal proceedings unfold.
At this stage, the allegations against him are part of an ongoing investigation and do not constitute a conviction.
“LOS APARICIO”: AN ORGANIZATION UNDER INVESTIGATION
“Los Aparicio”—also known as “Los Huazulco”—are identified by authorities as a criminal group with a presence in the eastern region of Morelos, specifically in Temoac.
Investigations link this organization to alleged activities involving kidnapping, extortion, small-scale drug trafficking, and homicide.
Axel Arturo’s family members also appear in the investigative records. His father, Arturo Romero Aparicio—identified as the group’s founder—remains incarcerated at the Federal Center for Social Reintegration in Tepexi de Rodríguez, Puebla.
Meanwhile, his mother, Andrea Angelina Zamora Castillo—known as “La Patrona,” who previously served as treasurer for the Temoac municipal government—was arrested and remains in custody at the women’s prison in Atlacholoaya, Xochitepec.
The arrest of “El Chorejas” adds another member of this family to the investigations into the criminal structure. However, authorities have yet to establish his individual level of responsibility and clarify the extent of his alleged ties to the organization.
