Choosing the right school is about more than achieving outstanding examination results. It is about preparing young people with the confidence, resilience and global perspective to succeed wherever life takes them.

In an increasingly competitive and rapidly changing world, families are looking for more than academic excellence – they want an education that equips their children with the curiosity, resilience and adaptability to thrive in an ever-evolving global landscape.

At Canadian International School of Hong Kong (CDNIS), students graduate with a distinctive advantage. As the only school outside Canada to offer both the International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme (IBDP) and the Ontario Secondary School Diploma (OSSD), CDNIS combines the academic rigour of the IB with the breadth and flexibility of the Ontario curriculum, creating a learning experience that develops curious, capable and well-rounded graduates.

Rather than increasing workload, the two programmes complement one another. Students benefit from the inquiry-based philosophy of the IB while meeting the comprehensive graduation requirements of the Ontario curriculum, enabling them to explore a broad range of subjects, strengthen interdisciplinary thinking and develop the critical thinking, collaboration and communication skills that universities – and future employers – increasingly value.

These outcomes are reflected in the achievements of the Class of 2026. Graduates have accepted offers from many of the world’s leading universities, including Brown University, Columbia University, Cornell University, University of Cambridge, Imperial College London, McGill University, The University of Hong Kong, UCL, The University of Sydney, University of California, Berkeley, University of Pennsylvania, and University of Toronto.

Collectively, the class received more than 1,000 offers from over 150 institutions across 12 countries and territories, including 38 offers to medicine and dentistry programmes, 70 offers to law programmes, and more than HK$28 million in scholarships and awards.

These achievements are supported by a dedicated University Counselling team that partners closely with students and families throughout the secondary years. From selecting courses and identifying best-fit universities to preparing competitive applications and scholarship submissions, students receive personalized guidance that empowers them to make informed decisions while remaining true to their individual interests, strengths and aspirations.

Academic achievement, however, is only one measure of success.

With more than 2,100 students representing over 40 nationalities, CDNIS is a vibrant international community where learning extends far beyond the classroom. Students are encouraged to pursue their passions across athletics, the arts, entrepreneurship, service learning, leadership, STEM and innovation, discovering new interests while developing the confidence to challenge themselves.

Many students represent Hong Kong China in sports including rugby, football, field hockey, netball, equestrian and lacrosse. Others earn recognition through international mathematics, robotics and innovation competitions, outstanding performances in music and theatre, entrepreneurial initiatives, and meaningful service projects that create positive change in local and global communities. These experiences encourage students to think creatively, collaborate across cultures, communicate with confidence and lead with empathy – qualities that prepare them not only for university, but for life.

This holistic approach is made possible by exceptional teachers, personalized learning, outstanding facilities, and a school culture that places equal importance on academic excellence, student well-being, and character development. Students are challenged to take intellectual risks, embrace new opportunities, and grow into resilient, compassionate young adults who are ready to make a meaningful contribution wherever life takes them.

Three members of the Class of 2026 achieved a perfect score of 45, while nearly half of the class earned 40 or above, resulting in an overall class average of 39. This marks the 13th consecutive year that a CDNIS student has achieved a perfect 45, further cementing CDNIS’s reputation as one of Hong Kong’s leading IB schools.

For families, these outcomes represent far more than impressive statistics. They reflect an educational experience that nurtures academic excellence while inspiring students to explore their passions, broaden their perspectives, and realize their full potential. At CDNIS, success is measured not only by the universities students attend, but by the confident, compassionate and globally minded individuals they become.
