A new narco banner in Tijuana threatened state police officers, accusing them of stealing 180 kilograms of cocaine, and vocalist Eduin Caz, of the band Grupo Firme for creating music about criminal rivals.
This is not the first time Grupo Firme, a popular musical group who play narco corridos, have been threatened by organized crime. Last year, Grupo Firme decided to cancel their March 1st performance at the Mazatlán Carnival after receiving death threats in a narco banner accompanied by a human head, reported Proceso. That message stated:
“Grupo Firme, if you play at the Mazatlán Carnival, we’re going to kill you all. Remember, you live in Tijuana. Even the guy who sets up the lights. We’re going to kill you all”
