The Li Ka Shing Foundation has partnered with The Walt Disney Company to offer 24,000 foreign domestic helpers free tickets to watch the latest Toy Story movie in the newest collaboration between the organisations to support Hong Kong’s migrant workers.
The charitable foundation, established by tycoon Li Ka-shing, said on Tuesday that screenings for Toy Story 5 would be arranged across six local cinemas over four consecutive Sundays in August.
Film-goers will receive free popcorn and drinks, as well as a souvenir from Hong Kong Disneyland, it said.
Registration will open at 9pm on Wednesday through online ticketing platform Klook, with tickets allocated on a first-come, first-served basis.
The screenings are set to take place at six locations operated by the Broadway Circuit chain in Tsuen Wan, Taikoo Shing, Mong Kok, Kwun Tong, Central and Yuen Long on August 9, 16, 23 and 30.
“Over the past three years, the Foundation and Disney have welcomed some 13,000 domestic helpers to Hong Kong Disneyland,” the foundation said.
