The conduct of another Hong Kong educator has been thrust into the spotlight after photos showing him carrying a female student in his arms surfaced online, with education authorities revealing they dealt with the matter when they first learned of the images two years ago.
The Education Bureau’s response to questions from the South China Morning Post about the photos on Friday came a day after the principal of another Hong Kong school resigned for swearing at security guards during a class trip to Singapore.
In one of the three photos circulating online, the teacher is seen lifting up the female student like a bride, with a blackboard in the background.

Another shows her chasing him, with a caption reading “da [the] best class teacher ever”.
The third photo shows the student wrapping her arm around the teacher’s waist, with a caption thanking him for an opportunity in a drama production, saying it was “unforgettable”.

The SCMP has reached out to the school for comment.
A bureau spokesman said that its Guidelines on Teachers’ Professional Conduct clearly stipulated the behaviour expected of educators to safeguard student welfare.
