CJNG and Mayos of the Sinaloa Cartel Announce Fighting for Tepic, Nayarit

By “El Huaso” for Borderland Beat

Over the last week, the Cártel Jalisco Nueva Generación (CJNG) and Mayos faction of the Sinaloa Cartel have left dueling narco banners threatening conflict in Tepic, Nayarit, a region controlled for years by the CJNG.

The first banner was found in the early morning in San Cayetano, a rural area located on Federal Highway 15, one of the main roads between Nayarit and Jalisco, with a message that allegedly announces the arrival of the Sinaloa group to the Nayarit state.

To those who should know, the MZ have already arrived and those who want to join
the team will be welcome and may there be peace for the workers and for all the
people of NAYARIT

Video captured by a CCTV camera showed a man tying the banner to a road sign.

That same day, the CJNG responded with a banner on the Los Lobos bridge, on the road leading to the exit to Mazatlán. A civilian in a vehicle recorded a video showing several men tying the banner to the top of the bridge.
Nayarit has an OWNER and it is respected
Here if you enter you’ll get fucked up
Sincerely: CJNG

Later on 15 August, two corpses were found hanging from the same bridge. In a message on two banners, the CJNG threatened the state governor, and rebuffed the Sinaloa Cartel’s threat.

With the whole banner so that there is no doubt left. The new administration respects the people and that is the only reason why your governor and Tronchatoro are still healthy/alive. Nayarit does not deserve another war, but we are ready. You boast about security numbers, and the ones that cost us lives are on us.

The people are getting tired and you have them fed up. Miguel Ángel and Elvia Ludmila. You cannot or do not want to do your job. You have never loved Nayarit and the people want you in hell. Stop robbing the people. The matter is with us and against the coward of your fat husband. Don’t modify the case files to make people guilty. Attention Juan Carlos, Pity, Cez, Pestañas, Fernando, César.
You are already on the list.

Following the start of the Sinaloa Cartel civil war in 2024, the cartel split into two main factions: Los Chapitos, led by the sons of Joaquín “El Chapo” Guzmán, and Los Mayos, headed by Ismael Zambada Sicairos (alias “El Mayito Flaco”). The civil war caused Los Chapitos to seek an alliance with the CJNG, in their fight against Los Mayos. Since then, Chapitos gunmen have fought alongside the CJNG against Los Mayos in some states.
